Road Trip Adventures - Nebraska

The last few months we've had the pleasure of taking a few weekend road trips, and our latest journey took us to Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska.

We were honored to be selected to return as season performers for

We also performed at FolkHouse Concerts in Omaha. You may listen to more video from our performance HERE. If you ever have a chance to attend a performance at one of these places, we encourage you to do so. Really wonderful people and venues!

Thanks to everyone who came to hear our music in Nebraska.
Thanks, too, to our Grandma and Grandpa for joining us on our travels and for providing us a place to stay! We couldn't do this without you!

Road Trip Adventures - Colorado

The last few months we've had the pleasure of taking a few weekend road trips for our music. In late September, we traveled to Colorado--and although the weekend went fast, we enjoyed seeing those mountains--if ever so distant.

Performances included a wonderful time at the Black Rose Acoustic Society
in Colorado Springs.

Road Trip Adventures - Wisconsin

The last few months we've taken some weekend road trips
and figured it was time to share about them here!

In August, we traveled to La Crosse, WI for the Great River Folk Festival.
That was a fun, fast-paced weekend, which turned out to be nice and cool instead of humid and hot!

We performed at The Interchange in Albert Lea, MN on Friday night, then drove to La Crosse for two workshops and a main performance at the festival in Riverside Park on Saturday.

We were overjoyed by the welcoming reception we received in Wisconsin!

Great Lakes Music Tour Continued

Last month, we traveled north to the Great Lakes on a music tour (and family vacation).

We learned about shipwrecks, toured lighthouses and watched an iron ore ship come through the Soo Locks in Sault Ste Marie.

We hunted for stones along the shores of Lake Superior, Lake Huron, and Lake Michigan.

We saw some beautiful waterfalls at Tahquamenon Falls.

We traveled through hundreds of miles of Iowa cornfields, and crossed over the Mighty Mississippi, as well as the Straits of Mackinac on the Mackinac Bridge.

We ate at a really cool Polish Restaurant at Legs Inn in Cross Village, MI.
We also ate Wisconsin cheese curds that squeaked, pasties from Muldoons in Munising, MI and some creamy Mackinac Fudge.

On our way home, we visited the birthplace of John Wayne--one of our favorite actors of all time.

We traveled with our grandparents and stayed in their amazing RV. The temperatures were wonderful, ranging from the mid-50's to the mid-70's--while those back home in Kansas had to live through triple-digit degree days.
It's good to be home, but we're already dreaming of our next music tour and where it will take us!

Eclipse Weekend Travels

We had a grand time traveling across Kansas and into Nebraska this past weekend for several 2017 Eclipse Celebrations.
First, we traveled to Concordia, KS for a performance Friday night at the Brown Grand Theatre--after moving Abigail into the dormitory at Pittsburg State University.
What a day!

This historic theatre is amazing and everyone in Concordia and the surrounding area should be so thankful to have it in their community.
Wow--just beautiful! We were very honored to have been hosted here for a performance.

Saturday morning we drove to Logan, KS for performances at the Hansen Arts and Crafts Fair.
These folks had some great crafts and what a wonderful arts display at the museum -- Ultra Realistic Sculptures by Marc Sijan.
If you have a chance to visit this display, please make the effort to do so. It is well worth the time.

Afterward, we drove up to Grand Island, Nebraska for a concert Saturday night at the Chocolate Bar. Yummy food and drinks here!
Oh, and btw, this was also where we celebrated Abigail's 21st Birthday! Happy Birthday, Abbey!

Sunday we hung out most of the day and then traveled to Hastings, NE late that afternoon for our final eclipse performance
at The Lark Listening Room, where we opened for Nora Jane Struthers and the Party Line. We had such a blast at this venue and hope to return again.
Thanks everyone, for joining us on this trip north. Your friendship and support mean so much to us.

Colorado Music Tour 2017

We had such fun this past month on our second Colorado Music Tour.

We made our usual stop in Burglington, CO at a sweet little park to have lunch and stretch our legs.

Our first night, we performed at the Front Range BBQ in Colorado Springs.
Their food was delicious!

Sunday we traveled to Alamosa for our Sundays at Six performance.
We made it through our soundcheck, but then the rain clouds gathered....
Before we'd finished our first song, it began pouring and even hailed and our performance was cancelled.
Didn't even get any pictures at this place because of the rain...so here's a shot of us with our Grandma and Grandpa, who toured with us this summer in their RV!

The next day we journeyed on to Creede for a return performance at Kip's Grill.
They have awesome fish tacos!

The next few days were spent enjoying the San Juan Mountains near Silverton.
We hiked, shopped, and enjoyed the beauty of the mountains and the very COOL temperatures of 40-70 degrees.

We even saw a MOOSE for the very first time--right at the entrance to our campground.

Saturday night we performed at the Wright Opera House in Ouray--the highlight of our tour!
Thanks to everyone at the Wright (and the Ouray Victorian Inn) for all your hospitality and generosity. We had a wonderful time.

For our final night, we returned to Manitou Springs for a performance at Kinfolks.

Thanks, Colorado, for another great music tour!
We are honored and touched by your enthusiasm and support of our music.
