2018 - A Year in Review, Part 1

2018 was a Wonderful Year! 

We had 49 performances at showcases, festivals, coffee houses, and listening rooms, released our 4th album, Broken Ties, and traveled to Michigan's Upper Peninsula on a Great Lakes Music Tour. Here are a few highlights from the first half of our year.

October Performances

The last few months have been busy for us as we traveled around Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas.

Tecumseh Days and Knuckleheads

This past weekend, we traveled north to Tecumseh, Kansas for their Heritage Days Festival.

That evening we performed in Kansas City, Missouri at Knuckleheads~ Gospel Lounge.

The first weekend in October, we'll travel to the Kansas Flint Hills to perform at the Fall Tasting Festival in Burlington, KS and then at the Fall Festival at Pioneer Bluffs in Matfield Green. 

Colorado Music Tour 2017

We had such fun this past month on our second Colorado Music Tour.

We made our usual stop in Burglington, CO at a sweet little park to have lunch and stretch our legs.

Our first night, we performed at the Front Range BBQ in Colorado Springs.

Their food was delicious!

Sunday we traveled to Alamosa for our Sundays at Six performance. 

We made it through our soundcheck, but then the rain clouds gathered.... 

Before we'd finished our first song, it began pouring and even hailed and our performance was cancelled.

Didn't even get any pictures at this place because of the rain...so here's a shot of us with our Grandma and Grandpa, who toured with us this summer in their RV!

The next day we journeyed on to Creede for a return performance at Kip's Grill.

They have awesome fish tacos!

The next few days were spent enjoying the San Juan Mountains near Silverton.

We hiked, shopped, and enjoyed the beauty of the mountains and the very COOL temperatures of 40-70 degrees.

We even saw a MOOSE for the very first time--right at the entrance to our campground.

Saturday night we performed at the Wright Opera House in Ouray--the highlight of our tour!

Thanks to everyone at the Wright (and the Ouray Victorian Inn) for all your hospitality and generosity. We had a wonderful time.

For our final night, we returned to Manitou Springs for a performance at Kinfolks.

Thanks, Colorado, for another great music tour!

Winter Performances

This past winter we've had to cancel performances due to flu bugs and icy weather.

Despite that, we've managed to get in shows in Iola, Wichita, Topeka, and Overland Park.

April Coffee Houses and Pubs

This last month, we had the pleasure of returning to a couple of our favorite 

coffee houses as well as perform at the Coda Bar & Grill, a new venue (for us) in Kansas City.

This last weekend, we traveled to Central Kansas

for weekend performances, beginning at the Artichoke Sandwich Bar in Wichita, KS.

We were blown away by the attendance and generosity at the Choke.

We hope to return again in 2016!

February Performances

The last thirty days, we've traveled from Independence, Missouri to Tulsa, then back again to the Kansas City area. It's been a lot of fun and the weather has been somewhat cooperative.

We always enjoy our road trips and family time -- and of course, meeting new folks who enjoy our music! Next up, we return to KC for our first house concert. We're looking forward to adding this new type of venue to our schedule. Here are a few pics from our last few concerts.

October Visit to Cutter's Smokehouse

This past weekend we returned to Cutter's Smokehouse in Eudora, Kansas. This is one of our favorite places to perform--greatly due to the fabulous meat combo sandwiches served there. Their ribs are pretty awesome too.

We have a bit of a break until our next performance toward the end of the month when we'll perform at Neewollah, Independence, KS on Wednesday, October 29 from 8-9:30 PM.
